[nanoPost] Process and materials for nano composite coatings

The centre develop new nano particle reinforced thermoset materials and new process to deposit these materials to produce more tough (less brittle) and high wear/corrosion resistance coatings.

The coatings are deposited using four different routes, including commercial coating processes and an new process developed in the project. The coatings would be much more flexible and impact resistant than conventional polymer coatings. This would satisfy more heavy-duty applications e.g. providing corrosion protection for steel or reinforced concrete structures with much more impact and abrasion resistant coatings.
