Research Centre Belgium

Research in the field of electronic and optoelectronic materials and devices.

In nanotechnology, research is focused on precursors for nanopowders, carbon nanoelectronics and molecular electronics. CVD diamond is studied as a candidate material for use in biolectronics and nanoelectronics. The development of chemical, water based precursors for producing nanocrystalline films for electronic applications (SBT, PZT, BLT) and for producing nanopowders (e.g.ZnO) is an important ongoing activity. The centre is also working on reliability aspects of material systems used in electronics, with emphasis on high temperature electronic materials and III–V materials.

Research activities are as follows:

  • Precursors for nanomaterials
  • Organic Electronic Materials
  • Organic Materials Synthesis and Characterization
  • Wide Band Gap Materials
  • Theoretical Chemistry
  • Biosensors
  • Electrical Characterization and Reliability
  • Chemical Analysis and Characterization
  • Physical Analysis and Characterization
