[nanoPost] Sol-Gel Based Multifunctional Coatings for Medical Applications

Coating materials based on nanostructured sol-gel technology, which combines nanotechnological approaches with technological transferability, especially for medical applications. Because of the wide variety of chemical parameters that can be adjusted in these coating systems, they offer a large number of possibilities to design multifunctional industrial surfaces, e.g. anti-microbial, easy-to-clean, biocompatible, cell growth promoting or inhibiting, without having to adapt substrate parameters.

The application of these mostly waterborne coating materials can be easily carried out by dipping, flowing or spraying, followed by a substrate adapted thermal curing step.
