Company Singapore

The technology is for the production of nano-sized precipitated calcium carbonate (NPCC). This has been out-licensed on a non-exclusive basis.

The platform can produce ultra-fine cubic shaped NPCC with these properties:

- Average particle size 40 nm
- Narrow particle size distribution
- BET surface area >40 m2/g
- No chemical inhibitor (no contamination)

In addition to NPCC, the company has also developed nano electronic materials. Nano-sized powders such as BaTiO3 enable multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) manufacturers to minimize their electrode layer thickness, hence increasing their volume loadings, resulting in greater efficiency and a lower production cost.

The company targets the following areas in the pharmaceutical sector:

Poorly water-soluble drugs

A reduction in particle size of poorly soluble drug will greatly increase the surface area of the active ingredient, which will result in a substantial increase in the dissolution rate. The reduction in particle size also enables more stable suspensions to be prepared.

Inhalation drugs

The technology platform allows control of particle size and morphology, hence enabling us to have complete control of the particle design for different delivery systems

Drug Carriers

The technology platform can also be used to control the synthesis of nano-drug carriers.
