The biosensor incorporates a proprietary nanostructured optical grating, which is incorporated in microwell plates in industry standard formats. When molecules bind to the biosensor surface, the reflected wavelength ("Peak Wavelength Value" or "PWV") increases, due to the change in the molecule's dielectric susceptibility on the biosensor surface. Real time binding can be observed by measurement of the shift in PWV over time. The system versatility allows for measurement of biomolecular interactions using proteins, peptides or cells. By linking receptor or antibody molecules to the biosensor surface, complementary binding molecules can be detected without the use of a fluorescent or particle label. Each addition of a biomolecule to a well can be observed in real time to monitor progress in assay development and quality control. The product is a powerful development tool that lets you qualify and quantify binding at every step of your experiment. The simplicity and efficiency of the assay format improves assay development, throughput and cost. Benefits of the BIND™ Technology |
