[nanoPost] Non-invasive hair removal

An Italian SME has developed a technology for application of high-frequency current for definitive, non-invasive hair removal, which is inoculated through an electro probe into the follicular structure with real-time adjustment of emitted power through a dedicated software that can keep the emission power constant and/or increase or decrease it according to the individual impedance feedback for each treated skin area.

This invention concerns the application of body impedance detection to any suitable machines working by means of probes and/or electrodes, gels or specific substances applied on the skin, electromagnetic waves, continuous or alternate currents of various frequencies, infrared rays and ultrasounds, used individually or synergically either for medical-therapeutic-rehabilitative purposes or for application in the health & beauty field in the treatment of skin problems.

The method works through a digital or analogue automatic system that through an algorithm of adequate calculation can monitor continuatively and in real time both the tension actually applied on the skin, and the current flowing during the application. The purpose is to ensure the exact power emission, by adjusting it depending on the impedance detection compared with the baseline of the applicative protocol; this allows also for a customised shift of the baseline.

The effectiveness of non-invasive method applying the emission of an energy source is not connected with the tension emitted (Vs) by the generator, nor with the current (C); instead, it is equal to the product of the tension applied on the skin by the current emitted by the generator: P = Vs x I In its turn, the currents depends on the tension produced by the generator and on the impedance composed of the sum of the skin impedance of the treated subject (Zs), the impedance of the generator output (Zc), and the coupling impedance, as following: I = V/ (Zs+Zo+Zc). Hence, controlling and regulating the tension does not assure that the correct power quantity is emitted and applied on the patient, unless Zs, Zo and Zc are known. However, this is a very rare and hardly reproducible condition that may vary from one patient to another and from one body zone to another even in the same person. This heavy drawback can be overcome by equipping the machine with a very powerful microcontroller that can monitor continuatively and in real time both the tension actually applied on the skin, and the current flowing during the application. For this purpose, a patient-machine feedback with real-time processing of the data obtained through an algorithm set in the software is used. Innovative Aspects: The most innovative aspects of the technology are: a) Introducing in a machine emitting energy real-time measurements through bio-feedback of the impedance data of the treated skin zone b) Processing such impedance data in real time through an algorithm obtained after long research and set in the software integrated in the machine, in order to modulate the control of tension and current, so that the product of the tension by the current is equal to the optimum required for that treatment c) Similarly, energy sources such as ultrasounds and/or infrared rays emitters, separately or synergically used, can also be adjusted Main Advantages: The system can adjust the emission as to emit an optimal quantity of power, which assures that the recovery times will be reduced to the bare minimum, that the treatment will be utmost effective, easier to use, safer for the patient, since the regulator avoids for excessive or dangerous power levels to be applied.
