Company UK

The process that we developed combines two existing technologies to produce monodisperse particles with well defined optical properties such as pearlescence, with a single polymer material (avoiding the inclusion of mica for example).

The crux of our process is to control the shape of monodisperse particles, where defined optical properties for the cosmetic and personal care markets is just one application.

In your technology request you mention wanting organic material, size ranging from 200nm to a few microns, a wide range of shapes, strong control over sizes and shapes, stability in an aqueous environment, no known FMCG issues, and suitable for scale up/out.  At present this list looks like a very close fit with the process that we have developed, and as a general point this overall area (particle generation processes) is a major strength at the company.

We have demonstrated our process in our lab, and are currently in discussions with potential commercial partners for exploiting it in their market.  It is related to a technology that we are currently putting into pilot production, whose key feature is monodispersity, and although I am restricted due to confidentiality in terms of how much information I can provide, this reinforces the credentials of the process for your client.

By way of background, the company is a technology development organization, aimed at enabling new products and processes for our clients.  Our business is based on leveraging our existing technologies and R&D capabilities, in fields ranging from wireless communications and digital printing through to medical products and drug delivery systems.
