Company Ireland

SubThe company are developing atmospheric pressure plasma equipment and processes that might be translated into solutions that prevent microbial colonization in manufacturing equipment.

They are currently developing proprietary processes that can deposit coatings that provide an anti-microbial response.  These atmospheric pressure plasma processes provide coatings that are typically less than 100 nm in thickness and thus, it can be considered to be providing nanotechnology. The process deposits coatings that are typically less than 100 nm in thickness.  Operating at atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature this process allows the use of a wide range of liquid precursors delivering high chemical functionality.  The APPLD process can be used to coat either insulating or conducting substrates to provide a variety of surface responses, which include anti-microbial response, hydrophilic response, hydrophobic response, acidic/basic functionality, adhesion promotion etc.
