Company Canada

The company has developed a low thermal expansion, very hard nanometal surface coating for carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) composite tooling. The coating adds durability and lifespan to tools making them compatible with production environments.

Benefits

- High hardness resists scratching and manufacturing wear and tear
the coating has 5x the hardness of Invar and overlaps with tool steel hardness
- High strength, high ductility material resists impact damage during manufacturing
- Fully dense material (no porosity) ensures vacuum integrity
- Lower thermal mass tool decreases cure cycle time
- Lighter weight tool increases tool mobility
- Compatible with machined or cast CFRP composites
- Compatible with epoxy or bismaleimide (BMI) resins
- Compatible with pre-preg or resin infused materials
