Our focus is the development of highly integrated polymer-based microsystems implementing (bio-)chemical transducers based on micro system technologies combined with multivariate signal evaluation. We have developed a large range of transducers based on electrochemical (impedimetric, amperometric), mass sensitive (SAW, QCM) and optical measurement principles.

Current activities include:

- Electrochemical sensor systems and multivariate signal evaluation for several applications (eg condition monitoring, household applications)
- Fully automatic diagnostics platform for protein and DNA chips
- Transducer development and miniaturisation for implantable biosensors
Polymer and "classical" microfabrication technologies are avalilable in our lab to develop these (bio-)chemical transducers and integrate them into systems (Micro - Nano - integration is under development). Multivariate techniques are ready for the signal evaluation of advanced multisensor systems.
Our expertise will result in inexpensive sensing devices for polymer multisensor systems and lab-on-chip platforms.
