Research Centre Germany

This institute is dealing with the development of innovative coating materials to improve the barrier properties of paper-based packaging materials. One aspect is the development of water-borne coatings based on modified starch, high amylose starch and starch containing nano particles. The aim is to develop paper packaging from renewable resources with significantly improved barrier properties against oxygen, water vapour and grease. We have a small pilot plant: Laquering and laminating unit for solvent-containing, solvent-free and UV-curing coating and adhesive systems. We are well equipped regarding methods for determining the functional properties of the packaging materials in our accredited labs.

We are working for industrial clients in bilateral contract research and in public funding research projects.
