Company USA

At the company, they have been following the work at Argonne[1], and are synthesizing copper nanoparticles as well. In most cases, the copper particles oxidize over time, as Argonne noted. The company is currently investigating methods to stabilize the copper nanoparticles from oxidation.

They have also studied the thermal conduction enhancement provided by carbon nanotube additions to fluids, and see that as an attractive option. Nanolab produces carbon nanotubes on a fairly large scale, and therefore has a strong competitive advantage in terms of productive capacity, and in creating stable dispersions in various fluids.

[1] Argonne has developed nanofluids with 40% enhanced heat-transfer characteristics via suspending conductive nano-particles in a base medium.
