PRESENT DIESEL FUEL MARKET
In 2001, more than 200 million tons of diesel fuel were consumed in the USA. A large number of vehicles are currently powered by diesel fuel, and their number increases every year. The primary reason is the better fuel economy, i.e. the usually cheaper price of diesel fuel (compared to gasoline), and the number of kilometers traveled per liter of diesel fuel.
PROBLEM
Diesel fuel causes pollution by emitting Nox and soot to the air. Currently, a few big players in the oil industry are attempting to solve this problem by developing water-in-oil emulsions. However, the main obstacle they face is the instability of the emulsion caused by the size of the droplets and their wide distribution.
Emulsions are defined as a mixture of two non-miscible phases. The smaller the particles the more stable the emulsion. Reduction of the particle size can be attained by a number of processes of production of a turbulent stream that leads to formation of small bubbles (cavitation).
PRODUCTS
A stable water-in-diesel fuel emulsion in various proportions (15/85, 10/90, 5/95) at a nano-level particle size through use of innovative patent protected equipment with the addition of surfactants and specifically designed equipment to carry out the process.
APPLICATIONS
- Transportation fuel for light and heavy vehicles and ships
- Stationery motors
- Domestic and industrial heating.
ADVANTAGES
- More complete combustion and higher
- thermal detonation
- Less NOx pollution, less soot emissions
- Economically more thrifty
- Increased fuel utilization
- Full patent protection for equipment and process
