| The group has productive research in the areas of producing and characterizing oxide nano-particles. The collaboration with Professor Sudipta Seal has seen the production of 20 - 40 nm size particles of zirconia, yttria - stabilized zirconia and cerium oxide. For anti-bacterial coatings, oxide nanoparticles will be the most suitable ones, particularly nano-titania. Another monolithic nanomaterial, namely, silver [Ag] can also be very useful. Ag nanoparticles have already been developed by the group. |
