The expertise of the Group is the development of chemical transducers based on different transduction principles and/or signal propagation media, making use of new technologies, new device structures, processes and materials. Main activities of the group are centred in the development of sensors and instrumentation based on: 1) Electrochemical sensors: Ion- and bio- sensors based on ISFET (Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor) devices. Microelectrodes based on thin-film technology. Interdigitated electrode arrays (IEA). 2) Integrated opto-chemical transducers. The team offers the expertise of chemists, engineers and physicists to satisfy special instrumentation requirements for sensors application in areas such as environmental monitoring, clinical analysis and control of industrial processes, mainly in the food industry.
